Department of Microbiology
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Every year 50-60 undergraduate (MBBS) students are taught
for 1 ½ years spread over three semesters. Two students for MD
(Microbiology) course are admitted every year. The teaching curriculum
of the MD students includes bench work training, seminar, journal review,
tutorial and practical exercise on different aspects of Microbiology.
In addition the students are also trained to teach the undergraduates
as well as nursing students and carry out research work for their theses
projects.
The faculty of the Department is involved in taking classes of other departments
like Molecular & Human Genetics, Applied Microbiology etc.
The Department also provides summer training / winter training to students
from other Institutes/colleges.
The Department arranges guest lectures from a number of renowned academicians
from the country and abroad
