Department of Neurosurgery

Year of establishment: 1998

The Division of Neurosurgery was established in 1964 in the Department of Surgery with objective of developing super specialty of Neurosurgery, training postgraduates and rendering specialty services to Patients. The M.Ch (Neurosurgery) was started in 1976 and since then M.Ch degree has been awarded to 18 students. Division was upgraded to Department in year 1998. At present the sanctioned posts are teaching 3 (Professor I, Reader I, Lecturer I).
The major thrust are to develop Brain tumor immunology and Brain trauma Centre.
Department has procured expensive equipments e.g. C-Arm with DSA and Operating Microscope.
