Department of Surgical Oncology
Year of establishment: 2005
Started as the division of Surgical Oncology and became
a full fledged department in 2004. Ministry of Health and family welfare
sanctioned the upgradation of Operation Theater in 2000 and now Department
of Surgical oncology has one of the best equipped operation theaters.
Recently, the department has started M.Ch course. The department is actively
engaged in Research on Cancer and at present there are 4 Ph.D students
enrolled in the department. One Faculty is Associate Editor of Journal
of Surgical Oncology and Guest editor to it's seminar on Cancer Gallbladder
(June 2006) and the member as Editor- in -chief of World Journal of Surgical
Oncology. The department organized workshops, recent advances and updates
on cancer and has active public interaction program for generating awareness
and early diagnosis of cancer.
